CCP Overview
Youth For Understanding USA's Community College Program (CCP) is growing in student numbers and member colleges since it was first started nearly 20 years ago. Our partner colleges welcome YFU's young adult participants to pursue a mix of English as a Second Language and academic coursework for a semester, a year, or a two-year Associate Degree. Since the program inception, over 3,000 students from more than 35 countries have taken on the exciting challenges of US college life and become local community members.
Most follow the YFU tradition of living with an American host family; some select the option to to experience life with their fellow students in a college dorm and spend time with a mentor family. Their studies encompass a variety of subjects, ranging from pre-Iaw to liberal arts, business, and hotel restaurant management. The CCP program provides participants diverse educational opportunities through academic and cultural experiences and the participants bring a wealth of intercultural perspectives to the college communities.
If you live abroad, have completed secondary school, and wish to come to the United States consider the Youth For Understanding USA Community College Program. US high school graduates wishing to study abroad can explore YFU Gap year/semester programs for the option that is right for you!
