Youth For Understanding (YFU) USAis pleased to announce the election of Daryl Weinert as its new Chairman following a unanimous decision by the Board of Trustees.  Weinert, who previously served as a Trustee and Vice Chairman, currently leads the University of Michigan’s Business Engagement Center as its Executive Director. In this role Weinert oversees the campus-wide strategy for corporate interactions at the University and serves as a primary point of contact for economic development efforts.  Weinert also serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Regional Chamber of Commerce.  His professional career has included working as the Director of Procurement Strategy at Aon Corporation and Vice President for Commercial Banking at Bank One. Weinert’s background includes international experiences working for the US Department of Energy in Hungary, serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, and participating as a YFU American Overseas exchange student to Spain.  Weinert earned degrees in Industrial and Operations Engineering and Economics from the University of Michigan. YFU USA welcomes Daryl Weinert in this new leadership role as a devoted advocate for global exchange and the greater YFU experience.
