YFU USA Announces Adoption of New Global Brand & Logo

USA organization is the latest partner in YFU international education nonprofit network to adopt new modern look and messaging, establishing a united universal brand

Washington, DC (April 28, 2015) — Youth For Understanding USA (YFU), a global leader in nonprofit educational exchanges, is excited to share their adoption of a new global logo, messaging, typography, imagery and color palettes for an aesthetic that provides YFU offices around the world with a unified brand identity. This new brand not only celebrates YFU’s history but also reflects the organization’s growth and transformation worldwide.

With a rich past, built on more than six decades of excellence in cultural exchange to more than 70 countries, the network of partners called for a global brand, allowing YFU to be instantly recognizable anywhere in the world.

Spearheaded by a task force who conducted surveys, focus groups and interviews along with a Global Brand Committee working in collaboration with two different firms, a new brand that is as powerful as the YFU story was born.

YFU USA will be transitioning elements of this new brand into materials throughout the course of 2015, featuring it first on its website and social media assets.

“Our programs transcend culture and continents and have enabled millions of global relationships to form,” said Michael E. Hill, YFU USA President & CEO. “The new global brand presents an exciting opportunity to connect YFU partners around the world with an internationally recognizable and unified brand identity for the first time in our history. We are excited to incorporate the new logo, messaging and visuals – and gradually transform our look over the course of 2015.”

YFU cultural exchange programs provide the ultimate reality check to a worldview based on stereotypes. Today, social media, including YouTube and Facebook, have begun to replace the broadcasts of the past. Yet, the more mass and social media seem to connect people, the easier it is to form stereotypes. YFU’s distinct brand of intercultural exchange helps people to see the world up close and recognize that a country’s reality is not what one sees in the news and online.

At its core, YFU is a catalyst for positive global change. With a new, united brand, the YFU international partner network will continue to open minds and hearts, enable learning that transforms lives, and ultimately help make us citizens of one world.
