2015 YFU GALA: CELEBRATING PARTNERSHIPS

YFU is grateful to all of our 2015 sponsors, guests and advocates who made our 2nd annual fundraising gala a success. The evening cocktail reception and dinner gala, chaired by YFU Board of Trustee members, Hon. (Ret.) U.S. Ambassador Laurence Wohlers and COO and CFO of Global Giving Jennifer Sigler helped to raise funds to increase need-based scholarships for students to study abroad, develop new programming opportunities, and provide volunteer enrichment. Our sincere thanks to our premier sponsors Sony Corporation and Kikkoman whose continuing support allows YFU to make exchange accessible to a wider audience. YFU was honored to welcome Minister for Public Affairs for the Embassy of Japan, Masato Otaka; New York Times best-selling author Amanda Ripley; Dean of Community High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Marci Tuzinsky (who was presented the 2015 Award for Education Innovation); along with recently returned YFU alumnus Gus Ruppert who each reflected on the importance of the exchange experience. YFU extends its sincere gratitude to our distinguished speakers who candidly shared personal stories and articulated the importance of citizen diplomacy in today’s world.
