Jyarland Daniels is a global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) communications leader supporting schools, nonprofits, and organizations in their efforts to shape culture, improve communication, and develop policies and practices that result in a more inclusive organization.
With an extensive corporate and nonprofit background, Jyarland has worked in Marketing, and Public Relations for greeting card giant Hallmark Cards, and for three Fortune 500 Companies: Johnson & Johnson, Ford Motor Company, and Volkswagen (Bentley Motors).
Seeing an opportunity to use her business experience, passion for diversity and inclusion, and training in civil rights and education law, Jyarland founded Harriet Speaks, a DEI consultancy that integrates Public Relations, Marketing, Crisis Communications, Conflict Resolution, Human Resources, and Leadership Coaching with diversity, equity, and inclusion. Harriet Speaks provides diversity and management training for nonprofits, corporations, high schools and colleges.
Jyarland holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas, where she was a Multicultural Business Scholar; an MBA (with an emphasis in Marketing and Finance) from The Ross School of Business at The University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, where she was a Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management Fellow, and a Juris Doctor in Civil Rights and Education Law from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
