Michele Peters, YFU USA National Volunteer Advisory Council Eastern Region Study Abroad Representative and NVAC Vice Chair started volunteering with YFU soon after she returned from her YFU Venezuela exchange experience in 1986.

Michele started volunteering with YFU soon after she returned from her YFU Venezuela exchange experience in 1986. She has volunteered in many capacities including serving as field manager, area representative, study oversees outreach, scholarship evaluator, further developing YFU South Africa, Board of Directors, International Advisory Council, starting a DC area alumni group, and one of the founders of the National Alumni Council and YFU Alumni Association, etc. She was also a staff member at YFU developing and implementing a centralized study abroad campaign and as a field director for North Carolina during the placement cycle.
