Scott J. Messing

Scott J. Messing is President and CEO of YFU USA.  Messing joined the organization in January 2014, and prior to assuming the President & CEO role, held the position of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. 

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Scott rejoined YFU USA in June 2022, after previously serving as its President & CEO for 4 years. He is a former exchange student and host father himself. Scott originally joined YFU in January 2014, and prior to assuming the President & CEO role, held the position of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Scott joined YFU from the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), where he served as Chief of Staff and Director of Administration and Association Services for over 8 years. Prior to his time at NAAG, Scott served as a public servant in various capacities for three different Pennsylvania governors, including an appointment as the Deputy Commissioner of Professional Licensing as well as the Deputy Secretary of Administration for the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Scott spent two semesters at the Universität Heidelberg during his undergraduate education and graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts dual degree in International Relations and German. He received his Juris Doctorate from Pennsylvania State’s Dickinson School of Law with a focus on international law and alternative dispute resolution.

In his free time, Scott enjoys travel, mountain biking, snowboarding, cooking and spending time with his family and two dogs.
