Senior Director of Program Development
Suzanne Jayaraman brings more than 20 years of leadership experience within the field of international education to YFU. For nearly 19 years she served to develop Kaplan International’s programs, building their English language schools and relationships with universities. She played a significant role in marketing to higher education facilities. Previously, Suzanne worked for Georgetown University, at the Center for Intercultural Education and Development to coordinate student volunteers who helped low-income immigrants improve their English language capacity. Tasked with developing innovative programming concepts, Jayaraman will draw from her background to expand YFU’s higher education programs and increase avenues for young adults from around the world to engage in safe, family-oriented advanced study abroad experiences in the United States. Her travels abroad led her to pursue a master’s degree in TESOL from St. Michael’s College in Vermont and a career path in international education. She has dedicated her career to building programs that have helped thousands of students reach their educational goals while studying in the U.S. Suzanne lives in Washington, DC with her husband and son.
