Manager of Strategic Partnerships
Rebecca M. Rorke joined YFU USA in February 2015 as manager of strategic partnerships and was promoted to director of development in January 2016. Rebecca brings with her extensive experience in the nonprofit sector in the areas of fundraising, program management and advocacy.
Before joining YFU, Rebecca worked for 10 years at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC, first as director of programs and later as the director of development and external relations. In that role she cultivated partnerships and programs with major nonprofit organizations, including the National Gallery of Art, National Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home, Horatio Alger Awards, and the Kennedy Center Master Class Series. Previous to Kirov Academy, Rebecca’s tenure at Dance/USA focused on advocacy in the political arena where she lobbied and negotiated with major political figures in Congress and the president’s administration on policies affecting nonprofit performing arts, including funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, charitable giving incentives, arts education and arts immigration at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service.
Rebecca graduated summa cum laude from Point Park University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Arts Management and Dance. Her love for travel and exploring other countries and cultures make her a natural fit for YFU’s mission.
