Amy Ballard

Amy Ballard is the Grants Compliance Specialist for Montgomery College's Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs. She manages post-award compliance for a portfolio of federal, state, and locally funded grants in varied higher education disciplines and support for students. Amy has 25 plus years of experience in the non-profit sector directing federal and private funded international exchanges for professionals in diverse fields, for US community colleges, and for secondary school students. This includes 15 years in leadership roles with Youth For Understanding USA. She served on the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET) board of directors from 2018-2021. Amy is a beneficiary of and a committed advocate for these important, impactful people-to-people exchanges. She personally participated in exchanges as a host parent for YFU and other exchange students from around the world, as a sending parent for her sons' international exchanges, as a study abroad college student in France, and as an AFS high school exchange student to Denmark. She earned undergraduate and master's degrees from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and from the School for International Training Graduate Institute respectively, as well as a TESOL certificate from Montgomery College. Amy is a volunteer tutor in English and citizenship preparation to support resettled refugees in the DC area.
